Tips For Avoiding Long Lines During Christmas At Disneyworld
Who doesn’t like long lines, especially at Disneyworld
during Christmas time? We are all there for a wonderful
Orlando
vacation and waiting for long periods is difficult.
The little ones get so excited and become impatient. Sometimes
the adults do as well! We’ve got some great tips below
to allow you the maximum enjoyment time at all of the
four Disneyworld parks, and surrounding property.
- Take full advantage of Disney’s FastPass System.
This is where you go to an area close to the attraction
you want to visit then insert your park pass. You’ll
be issued a ticket for a certain period of time ahead
and this will vary depending on how busy the attraction
is. Go early to get to some of the more popular attractions
as they can “sell out” of FastPasses early in the day.
They are free and not all attractions have them. You
can wander the park and return to the attraction and
enter via a separate line and avoid the long wait.
- Some of the popular attractions to get a FastPass
for, include: Kilimanjaro Safari Rides at the end of
“Africa” in Animal Kingdom. Any live show in all of
the parks, when they have them. A lot of live shows
don’t have the FastPass feature. Other popular attractions
are Soarin’ on the bottom level of The Land in Epcot,
FastTrack at Epcot, Mission to Mars at Epcot, and many
more. Pick out your favorites in a brochure and it’ll
tell you if the FastPass is available for that particular
one.
- Epcot: This park is so large that almost anytime is
good. Arrive early to get a good spot for Illuminations,
free seats at the Christmas Processional choir concert
(that can be hours ahead of the show), and any Christmas
parades.
- Magic Kingdom: Do not go on Saturday or Sunday if
you can possibly avoid it. This park is about the size
of Disneyland and the weekend can get pretty crowded
because this park is the most poplar with children.
On a nice summer day there’s often huge lines and barely
enough room to move around. If it is the weekend and
rainy, the crowds will be smaller.
- Animal Kingdom. If you go at Christmas it won’t be
so hot here. Because there’s lots of water in this park
the weather can get obsessively humid in the Summer.
Make sure you get there early for the popular parades.
- Disney/Hollywood studios. This is a fairly small
park but get in line early for their popular live shows
such as American Idol and the live stunt spectacular
(at the back of the park). Also, get a FastPass early
for Toy Story 3-D Adventure.
